Kerry Jones
Founder & CEO
Healthy Church CFO

Most financial professionals who serve churches learned finance first and church second. Kerry Jones came the other way around.

For 17 years he served as the Executive Pastor and CFO of a large church in Texas, a congregation that grew to 10,000 members. He sat in the seat your team sits in now: closing the books, building the budget, translating the numbers for a board, and carrying the responsibility of leading well with funds the congregation had sacrificially given. During those years he chaired the executive building committee for a $25 million campus relocation, restructured the church's debt, and built the financial and reporting systems the church ran on.

That experience is the foundation of everything Healthy Church CFO does. Kerry is an ordained minister, holds an MBA in corporate finance from the University of Dallas and a BBA in finance from the University of North Texas, and has spent 30 years as a church CFO. He is genuinely fluent in both languages, pastoral and financial, and that combination is rare. Most advisors translate finance into something a pastor can follow. Kerry already speaks the pastor's language, and he can read the church's financial statements and tell you exactly what they mean.

He founded Healthy Church CFO in 2015 to give growing churches the financial leadership they need in the season before they can justify a full-time CFO on staff. Today he serves churches across the country, from a few hundred in attendance to several thousand, as their outsourced financial leader: producing the monthly reporting, modeling borrowing capacity, writing loan request packages, sitting in on the board meeting when the conversation turns technical, and coaching pastors and administrators until the church's own financial muscle is strong.

Kerry is a published contributor to industry magazines on church finance and facility strategy. He speaks regularly at denominational gatherings and church leadership events, and he is available to address groups on church financial leadership and facility expansion.

Kerry also serves as Vice President of Client Relations at Goff Companies, the nation's premier church-only construction and planning firm. The two roles fit together: Goff helps churches build, and Healthy Church CFO helps them fund it wisely and stay financially healthy long after the building is finished.

Above every title, Kerry considers himself a friend to pastors. The relationship comes first. The counsel is built on top of it.
